2009 was a great year here at Lexington Homes. We had great success with the opening of new models at our Bridgeport property Lexington Square and also expanded our online presence through a new website look as well as a Facebook and Twitter presence. Other highlights for Lexington Homes included winning the Agent's Choice Award for "Favorite Suburban Value" for our Willow Place residences and also taking home six wins at the annual Key Awards ceremony.
With 2010 only a few days away we put together a small list of things for homeowners or potential homebuyers to embrace in the coming new year.
1.) Dont miss out on the final stretch of the homebuyer tax credit! Mortgage rates are at all-time lows, prices have been scaled down and the $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit has been extended through April 30, 2010. It has also been expanded to include a $6,500 tax credit to move-up buyers. Also, at Lexington we are giving away additional $8,000 credit-on-extras to everyone, whether you’re a first time home buyer or have owned a home before. When you add that with the $8,000 first time home buyer tax credit, you can have the opportunity to save up to $16,000! Now is the the time for first-time home buyers to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
2.) Bored in your new home already? Why not start a home improvement project? Cheap home equity money should not only help to start, but also finish the job! For ideas and pointers check out HGTV's Home Improvement webpage.
3.) Keep your line of credit clean. If you have questions or worries about this matter all you need to do is take a look at your credit card statement for a toll free number directing you to a credit help line, if necessary. This feature is a part of the new and little-known mandated disclosure provisions in the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 (CARD Act). Having a good credit score will speed up your homebuying process and increase your changes of securing that mortgage you've been waiting to procure.
4.) Consider buying an investment property. If you are in a financial position to do so, now is an excellent time to consider investing in more real estate. Owning additional properties can be quite profitable in the long run.
5.) Last but not least, consider a beautiful new dwelling at one of our award winning Lexington Homes residences! With three different Illinois areas to choose from (Wheeling, Des Plaines and Bridgeport), Lexington offers some of the finest in both urban and suburban living. Our Design Center offers you the ability to customize your new home just the way you want it. Our sales associates can review all the steps of the interior design selection process with you and can answer any questions along the way. At Lexington Homes, we're here to make sure you're satisfied with your new home. Please take a look at our website for further information about purchasing a Lexington home or contact one of our sales centers.
From the staff here at Lexington Homes, we wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2010!
