Two models have opened at Willow Place, a community of 58 townhomes in northwest-suburban Wheeling. These are the first models unveiled by the “new” Lexington Homes. Located on the south side of Wheeling, at Foster and Old Willow roads, Willow Place offers two floor plans ranging from 1,858 to 2,157 square feet. Base-priced from $329,990 to $369,990, the three-story homes come standard with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and attached two-car garages. Options allow for additional bedrooms and bathrooms. “Since the reincarnation of Lexington Homes last year, we’ve worked hard to develop a new standard for townhome design and functionality that will meet the needs and exceed the expectations of today’s buyers,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “These two townhome models showcase the smart floor plans and features our previous homebuilding companies have long been lauded for, while adding new details and amenities that today’s buyers want.” One of the models available for viewing is the fully-decorated Chestnut. The 1,858-square-foot model displays some of the homebuilder’s most unique and stylish inclusions, such as arched openings, a kitchen pass-thru with breakfast bar, and a built-in window seat in the living room. Base-priced from $329,990, the Chestnut has proven popular with many first-time buyers, noted Benach. “Some of our buyers looked at townhomes in the city, but when they comparison shopped they realized Willow Place offers the same sophisticated touches, but at a fraction of the price,” said Benach. “From stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel lighting fixtures to nine-foot ceilings and luxurious master baths, these homes have it all.” Entering through the front entry, visitors can proceed down a half-flight of stairs to the finished lower level, which is decorated as a home theater and bathed in sunlight due to expansive, deep-silled windows that line one wall. According to Benach, the lower level of this home looks and feels more like a main level due to the full-size windows, which makes it a great spot to gather with friends or family. A half-flight upstairs from the front entry, the main level includes an open living room and dining room, a powder room, laundry room and an oversized balcony off of the eat-in kitchen. The kitchen has been upgraded to include granite countertops, hardwood floors and a built-in buffet, which buyers will appreciate due to the extra serving and storage area it provides, added Benach. Upstairs, the Chestnut features a master suite that comes standard with a vaulted ceiling, as well as two secondary bedrooms that are shown as a guest room and a home office. Both secondary bedrooms have been upgraded to include vaulted ceilings. Buyers of the Chestnut can opt for a second master suite in lieu of two secondary bedrooms, which Benach said many homebuyers will appreciate. A second model available for viewing is the 2,157-square-foot Hickory, an end unit that features a side entrance and mostly single-level living. Priced from $369,990, the Hickory includes three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a loft. From the front entry, residents can proceed up one half-flight of stairs to the main level or down one half-flight of stairs to a finished lower level. The main level features volume ceilings and an open, contemporary feel with an abundance of natural light due to the two-story windows in the combined living and dining rooms. For easy accessibility, the master suite is located on the main level, adjacent to the kitchen. It features a deluxe master bath with a large soaking tub and separate shower. “Downsizers and empty nesters are especially drawn to this design as it conveniently places the bedroom, kitchen and main living areas on the same level, reducing the need to go up and down stairs,” said Benach. “In addition, it allows the upper level to serve as a guest floor – perfect for when children or out-of-town guests visit.” On the upper level, a large loft overlooks the main living areas and provides space for a den or office. Two secondary bedrooms and a full bath are located on this level as well. Both secondary bedrooms have been upgraded to include vaulted ceilings. The Hickory is also shown with a corner fireplace with granite surround in the main living area, granite countertops and hardwood flooring in the kitchen, and oak rails with wrought-iron detailing. According to Benach, these have been the most popular options with buyers so far. All homes at Willow Place include brushed nickel lighting fixtures; oversized private balconies; 42-inch maple cabinets and GE stainless steel appliances in the kitchen; and a dual-bowl raised-height vanity with a cultured marble top in the master bath. Buyers also can select from a variety of options and upgrades, including fireplaces, alternate bedroom configurations and additional baths. |
