Chicago-based Lexington Homes has announced the beginning of sales at Willow Place, a community of 58 townhomes in northwest-suburban Wheeling. Willow Place marks the first of four communities Lexington Homes plans to launch in the suburbs and in the city of Chicago in the coming year.
Located on the south side of Wheeling, on Wolf and Old Willow Road, Willow Place offers two distinct floor plans. Homes measure 1,789 to 2,012 square feet and come standard with three bedrooms, 2 full and one half-baths and attached two-car, rear- loading garages. Base prices range from the $350,000s to the $390,000s.
“Willow Place is our response to an underserved need for townhomes in a vibrant, established community like Wheeling,” said Jeff Benach, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Lexington Homes. “We saw a great opportunity to bring to Wheeling an updated Mews-style architectural design with rich exteriors and private garages.”
At Willow Place buyers have a choice of the Hickory or Chestnut floor plans, both offering open, living spaces.
“With both the Hickory and Chestnut floor plans we placed great emphasis on making sure every room in the home lives well,” said Benach. “At the end of the day, it’s how the space works for you that ultimately makes it a home.”
According to Benach, the Hickory is a contemporary floor plan that appeals to a variety of buyers, including empty-nesters.
“It has a main level master suite so buyers don’t have to worry about walking up and down the stairs to get to their bedroom,” said Benach. “It also has large storage areas located in out-of-the-way places, like under the stairs, as well as a loft that can serve as a multipurpose space for a media room or home office.”
Benach also noted other distinctive attributes of the Hickory floor plan that make it a standout.
“The living and dining room have two-story volume ceilings, which is typically found in single family homes,” said Benach. “And instead of frontal entryways we made sure each home has a side entryway for privacy.”
The Hickory includes a family room on the lower level and a living and dining area on the main level. The home comes standard with two full baths and one powder room on the main and lower level, respectively. Buyers also have additional storage and utility rooms in the lower level of the home.
The Chestnut, a more classic floor plan, features a large kitchen with a breakfast area and an attached laundry room for easy access when doing household chores.
“We designed the kitchen to be more than a functional space,” said Benach “Its size reflects the fact that it’s a focal point of the home, a gathering center, and vehicle for entertainment.”
On the upper level, the home includes a master bedroom and two secondary bedrooms. Buyers have the option of adding another master suite or a powder room to the home.
Benach noted that the Chestnut’s flexibility makes it work for buyers at any stage of life.
“The Chestnut is designed to work for singles, couples with or without children, or even buyers who may find themselves taking care of older parents down the line,” said Benach. “It’s a home with functional space that adjusts with the resident’s living situation over time.”
All homes at Willow Place come with: 9-foot first-floor ceilings; private balconies; 42-inch maple cabinets and GE Stainless Steel appliances in the kitchen; and volume ceilings in the master suite as well as cultured marble top in a variety of colors and dual sinks in the master baths.
Willow Place is located approximately three miles west of Interstate 294, making the community convenient for those commuting to neighboring suburbs or the Loop.
Buyers will have access to a variety of restaurants on Wheeling’s restaurant row on Milwaukee Avenue, including Benihana and Bob Chinn’s Crab House.
Residents at Willow Place are also within easy reach of Wheeling’s recreational amenities such as the Chevy Chase Golf Club, and the Wheeling Park District which offers a state-of-the-art aquatic center with year-round activities for all ages.
To visit Willow Place, take I-294 to Old Willow Road and drive west to Wolf Road, continue for about half a mile to Old Willow Road. Make a right and continue about half mile. The sales center is located at 1984 S. Foster Ave.
