Lexington Park is proud to be part of Des Plaines, and even more so after this past weekend’s events! The Des Plaines Summer Fling, scheduled from July 21-24th, showed community spirit at its finest. The northwest suburb (which is home to the first McDonald’s restaurant) rebranded its annual Taste of Des Plaines into a four day “Summer Fling” festival this year.
There was an impressive music lineup on Friday-Sunday. Tons of activities for kids were available, so bringing the WHOLE family was encouraged! There were arts and crafts at the “Pearson Street Art Fair” and who could forget the food? Nothing brings together a crowd of people better than food and there was plenty of it, including the cuisine of popular local restaurants.
This year’s festival was all about family, friends and neighbors. Lexington Park truly is located in the heart of one of the region’s most eclectic and cozy suburbs of Chicago. You’ll find tree-lined streets, a vibrant community composed of families and neighbors and a great combination of business and pleasure (which isn’t frowned upon!).
If you missed out on the festival this year, not to worry. And whether you’re a Lexington Park resident or considering moving to the area, we highly recommend you see what we have to offer. Not only is Lexington Park a comfortable and friendly place to live, its surrounding area is pretty impressive, too.
