It’s the new year—we are all still getting used to writing “2024”—and we know you love to look ahead to what the future will bring! Lexington Principal Jeff Bench was recently honored to be interviewed by Chicago Agent for his predictions for real estate in Chicago in 2024. Benach is often consulted for insights—he has spent his career at Lexington, known as a premier name in Chicago real estate, as we’ve built over 42,000 homes in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
When asked about whether new construction will continue to grow, Benach noted the outlook is strong. Lexington is poised for another exciting year of building. He notes, “We hope to launch at least three different townhome communities in 2024—one in Morton Grove, one in Northbrook, and one in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. In total, these developments would bring an additional 240 units to the market.”
The Chicago Agent posed an interesting question about what types of homes would be in most demand. “Higher interest rates and affordability will continue to bolster demand for townhomes, in our opinion,” says Benach.
