Bridgeport Farmers Market; a hop, skip and jump from Lexington Square!

The Bridgeport Farmers Market has started up again for summer on Saturdays, 7-1 pm, and we’re featuring some of the best vendors around!

Located at 35th and Wallace, it is a hop, skip and a jump from Lexington Square! Kevin Green, an associate of Regina Castle, one of Lexington Squares’ Sales Managers, went on a visit to speak with some of the vendors. He sampled local produce, meat, honey, cheese and delicious baked goods.

Highrise Bakery, a bakery that brings pies and breads that are often still warm upon arrival, wrote a brief story about their involvement. In their own words, “We are a family owned company with years of culinary experience. Our bakers handcraft artisan breads and sweets fresh daily using old family recipes; some we’ve brought back from Europe. We use high quality natural ingredients, slow proofing and unique-styling of baking to achieve this artisan quality. We hand-shape beautiful breads such as dinner rolls, baguettes, boules, sandwich rolls and artisan loaves using an array of doughs, including pretzel, brioche, 9 grain, ciabatta, french, sourdough, whole wheat, rye and many more! Our sweets include donuts, scones, nut loaves, pound cakes, brownies, cinnamon rolls, danishes, croissants, cookies and more. We also offer custom designed breads and sweets for our customers’ specific needs. With the variety of our products, you’ll find ideal breads and sweets for your needs!”

The market includes fresh produce in addition to bakeries. 11th Ward Alderman, James Balcer, buys produce himself at the Bridgeport Farmers Market. “My wife and I have been there frequently and think it’s great,” he said. “Everyone should come.”

Kevin and Tom, our VPs of Operations, also love to frequent Bake For Me, a bakery and cafe, at lunchtime. It is no secret that The Bridgeport Farmers Market has everything you could possibly need … and more! Living at Lexington Square is a pleasure, not only for you and your family, but for everyone’s tastebuds as well!
